How Much Does Shed Removal Cost?
Shed removal can start at around $250. However, pricing is ultimately determined by factors such as shed material, size, location, and the overall complexity of the job. Whatever your needs, we aim to deliver efficient service that meets your needs while respecting your budget.

How is the Price Determined?
When it comes to demolishing a shed, the price isn’t always one size fits all. Several factors can influence the cost, and knowing what affects the price can help you plan and budget ahead. Here are some of the key elements that can impact your shed demolition project:

1. Location of the Shed
The position of your shed on your property makes a big difference. If it’s tucked in a tight corner or surrounded by landscaping, trees, or fences, it can take extra time and effort to safely remove it. On the other hand, a shed that’s easy to access is generally quicker and cheaper to demo.

2. Accessibility for Equipment
We often use a dumpster, truck, or trailer to haul away debris. If access to the shed is limited then we have to move and carry debris a long distance. This requires more time and labor, which can influence the final cost. Driveway access, yard/fence gates, and terrain all play a role.
3. Roof Type
Shed roofs vary widely, and this can affect the demolition process. A shingled roof almost always require more effort to remove than a simple metal or tin roof. Extra layers, steep slopes, or fragile materials all add time and complexity.

4. Material of the Shed
The type of materials used to build your shed also matters. Metal sheds are typically easier and faster to take down, while wooden sheds, especially those built with thick lumber or heavy panels, require more effort and careful handling.

5. Construction Quality
How well the shed was built can significantly impact demolition. If it’s already unstable or on the verge of falling, the job might be quicker—but we also have to be extra careful for safety reasons. Conversely, a solidly constructed shed may require more labor to take apart piece by piece.

6. Additional Factors
Other considerations might include whether there are attached structures, electrical wiring, or plumbing in the shed. These elements can add to the complexity and cost, as they need to be safely disconnected or removed during demolition. Also important is if your shed has items inside of it. If we have to move them prior to work OR if it is full of trash you want removed - it can influence the price of the overall demo.

Understanding these price influencers can help you get a more accurate estimate and avoid surprises. At the end of the day, every shed is unique, and we tailor our demolition approach to your specific situation to ensure the job is done safely, efficiently, and at a fair price.

How Can I Get Rid Of an Old Shed Myself
It doesn't always make sense to hire a junk removal company. Whether you are constrained by budget or willing to break a sweat there are multiple options to dismantle and dispose of a shed yourself.

-
Dismantling and disposing of an old shed requires preparation, safety, and careful steps to ensure efficient removal. Begin by clearing out all items from inside the shed. Once empty, disconnect any utilities if they are connected, like electricity or water. Wear safety gear, including gloves, safety glasses, and a dust mask, as dismantling can create dust, sharp edges, and potential hazards.
-
While not 100% here are some tools that will make the job much easier: reciprocating saw, hammer, crowbar, t type wrecking bar, scoop shovel, ladder, wheelbarrow, sledgehammer, drill, etc.
-
Start by removing doors and windows, if there are any, using a drill or screwdriver to loosen hinges and screws. This step allows easier access to the interior and helps lighten the structure. Next, take off the roof by detaching shingles or roof panels. Using a pry bar, remove any nails or screws securing the roof frame. Take the roof down carefully to avoid structural instability as you work on lower sections.
-
After the roof, proceed to dismantle the walls. Begin with one wall at a time, using a pry bar to separate wall panels from the main frame. Walls are typically screwed or nailed to the frame, so methodically remove screws or nails until the panel detaches. If the shed is wooden, you may need a saw to cut sections if they are difficult to remove as single pieces. For sheds with metal frames, use a wrench to detach bolts that hold parts of the frame together.
-
Once the walls are down, dismantle the floor and foundation. Wooden floors can often be pried up, while concrete foundations may require specialized tools if they need removal. If the shed is on a gravel or concrete pad you intend to keep, simply clear any debris.
-
For disposal, sort materials by type—wood, metal, plastic, or other materials—to facilitate recycling or disposal. Contact local waste disposal centers to see what they accept, as some centers offer recycling for materials like metal and wood. If you have large pieces or significant debris besides hiring a junk removal company (like us) you will need to rent a dumpster. For dumpsters always order bigger than you think you will need.
