Hoarding is a serious problem. In America, it is estimated that as many as 14 million people are afflicted by hoarding disorder. Since founding this company, I have seen firsthand how hoarding can affect one's life. As such we have developed a judgment-free service dedicated to helping others declutter, organize, and reclaim their living spaces.

How Much Do Hoarder Cleanouts Cost
The cost of hoarder cleanouts varies from project to project, Influential factors include the size of the property, the volume of items to be removed, project location, and the specific services required. Each cleanout is unique and as such we offer personalized consultations that allow us to assess your situation and provide customized project packages and pricing. We aim to deliver efficient service that meets your needs while respecting your budget.

Why Should I Hire a Hoarder Cleanout Company
Many of our past clients have told us that they attempted to conduct the cleanout themselves prior to hiring us. As someone who has orchestrated many cleanouts - it is no easy task. Many people underestimate the necessary manpower, logistics, and equipment necessary to complete a hoarder cleanout. Here are some of the most common reasons people choose to hire versus completing the job themselves.
-
Saving Time - Coordinating a cleanout can take a tremendous amount of effort. For the uninitiated, clearing out a property can be slow going. On your own, it can take weeks to months - even longer if you have difficulty letting of things. While every project is different - we complete most residential hoarder cleanouts in just 1 to 3 days! Reclaim your life and your home.
-
Reduce Stress - We understand the challenges associated with hoarder cleanouts. That is why we offer custom-tailored project packages to provide you with everything you need. When you're facing such a daunting task - know that you can trust in a team that will handle every aspect of the cleanout process, ensuring a seamless and (as much as possible) stress-free experience.
-
Stay Safe - Beyond the physical nature of cleanouts - they can also be dangerous in unassuming ways. Many hoarder homes contain animal carcasses and droppings, dust, and many other factors (especially in older homes) that can pose health risks. Stay safe and hire an experienced team that knows what to look for and how to navigate potentially hazardous situations.
-
Auxiliary Services - Not all cleanouts are made equal. Sometimes a project requires more than just a dumpster and trash bags. That is why we offer auxiliary services to aid in providing the most comprehensive service packages possible.

Not Everything Is Trash!
Carolina Junk Pros prioritizes sustainability and community support. Unlike other companies, we do not trash everything. When clearing out a hoarder home we first begin by identifying what items can be donated or recycled. Our team is experienced in identifying valuable items that can benefit local charities and organizations, ensuring they continue to serve a purpose rather than ending up in a landfill. By focusing on responsible disposal, your loved ones' belongings can continue to contribute positively to the environment and the community.

What do I Need to do to Prepare for a Hoarder Cleanout
Technically, you do not need to do anything to prepare for our arrival. It all depends on the severity of the cleanout or the services chosen during the initial consultation.
If the majority of items are to be donated, recycled, or disposed of - preparation is not necessary. Our team is trained to identify and set aside - valuables, important documents, family photos, etc. We will also take additional direction from you in terms of items to keep.

However, if you are intent on sorting through the house of your own accord - we highly recommend doing so before we come. Trying to sort while we are onsite can significantly hinder the cleanout process. Here are some tips from the pros to make things a little easier.
-
Create a Plan - Don't go into it blind. Establish a clear plan for sorting. Consider dividing the home into manageable sections and tackling one area at a time.
-
Take Your Time - Allow yourself the necessary time to sort through belongings. Rushing can lead to overlooking important items or making hasty decisions.
-
Circle Back - After a good night's sleep or several days to think - circle back to the items in your keep pile. You might have a new perspective on whether things are worth keeping.
-
Categorize - Sort items into categories such as keep, donate, sell, and discard. This will help streamline the process and make decision-making easier. It will also help us when we come in to conduct the cleanout.
-
Get Help - Sorting through an entire property can be a massive undertaking. Don't go at it alone. Get help from friends and family.
-
Get Supplies - As you progress pack and label items you want to move or put into storage. Things like boxes, tape, sharpies, and totes will help you stay organized.
-
Be Patient - Whether you are sorting through your own home or helping someone else - patience is key. This is often a difficult and emotional process. Empathy is key.
