Why Should I Hire Exercise Equipment Removal Services
You have a lot of options when it comes to removing your exercise equipment. However, if you want a seamless, stress-free, hands-off experience - Carolina Junk Pros can deliver. Here are some alternative options that people often try before hiring us.

-
Selling - Gym equipment can be expensive. Many people attempt to recoup some of their money after they no longer need or want their equipment, However, this can be a tedious process. After assessing the condition, inventorying items, photographing, listing, and fielding inquiries you have to find time for people to come to check out your items. Besides the inherent danger of meeting strangers. buyers are often late, no-shows, or lowballers. If you get to the point where you come to a deal, you then have to disassemble and remove the items from your home. All in all, for the sake of your sanity and time, you often come out better by hiring removal services to come take your old gear.
-
Putting to the curb - If you live in a location with free municipality trash pickup your first thought may be to toss it to the curb. Not every city offers bulk item pickup and even if they do most gym equipment is prohibited. Depending on your neighborhood you may also incur the wrath of your HOA.
-
Donating - Donating is always encouraged. As a company, we always donate first before considering alternative options. Firstly, your items must be in good and working condition. Secondly, many thrift stores do not offer donation pickup service. The ones that do, place limitations on their pickup teams for insurance reasons. Depending on the location, size, or weight of your equipment, you may be ineligible for pickup.
Commercial Exercise Equipment Removal
There are no exclusions to where we pick up equipment from. While the majority of our jobs take place in residential homes we also facilitate commercial exercise equipment removal.

How Can I Get Rid Of Old Exercise Equipment
It doesn't always make sense to hire a junk removal company. Whether you are constrained by budget or willing to break a sweat there are multiple options to dispose of home gym items yourself.

-
Never Do It Alone - No matter how much you have been going to the gym NEVER attempt to move exercise equipment alone.
-
Proper Equipment - Some exercise gear can be very heavy. If you feel like you don't have enough manpower, rent or purchase dollies or hand trucks. They make moving heavy items much easier. Always check the weight rating before usage.
-
Prep for Removal - If possible always disassemble the equipment. The more pieces you can break it down into the more maneuverable and lighter it will be. If you are planning to donate, put any hardware into a Ziploc or plastic bag and secure it to the gear so that it can later be reassembled.
-
Prep Home - If you are worried about scuffs or bumps, wrap the corners or any sharp edges to prevent hard contact. You can also put down old cardboard boxes (many stores will be happy to give you free cardboard boxes) or old linens to protect your floors.
-
Disposal - Some municipalities provide curbside pickup for bulk items. However, due to the nature of exercise equipment, it is likely you will have to dispose of it yourself. At a bare minimum, you will need to own, borrow, or rent a pickup truck. If the equipment is still in good condition you can donate it. If not look for the closest recycling center to you that accepts your type of equipment. Lastly, you can take it to your county landfill (and usually) dump it for free if you are a resident.
